I am infinitely fascinated by stories. The stories of our lives. The stories of events in our lives. And the stories we make up about those events. As a way to make sense, cope, feel better, and/or move on. I imagine that the pandemic has been such an event for us all. Making this film was a way to cope with the uncertainty of that time.

Creating this story gave me purpose and joy, and it challenged me to keep creating for the sake of creation because it brings me alive. I am forever grateful to Steve for bringing this project into my world.

Director of Photography

Nicolas began his path in “black box” theatre where he met Steve Lucas. The two worked on various projects together and ended up working in tandem on a project known as Fusion.

Nicholas became known as the “Video Guy”. After several years of touring with Toronto music artists as a “Lighting Guy”, Nick worked as a Gaffer (Film Lighting Guy) for many productions. He primarily produced low-budget music videos for Videofact, Bravo and Much Music.

He was able to work with top up-and-coming cinematographers, directors, and some of the most accomplished DP’s in Canada. Years passed and one day Steve asked if Nick was interested in working on “an idea” as his “Camera Guy”. Nick said “ok”.

Composer and Sound Designer

Romano Di Nillo is currently living in Stratford, Ontario just finishing his multi-year stint as percussionist for the original hit Broadway musical Come From Away. Before 2016 he was travelling all over North America as the drummer for Wicked the musical visiting over 80 cities and playing for millions.

Besides performing, Romano has a passion for sound and storytelling through sound. This finds its outlet through composing for film and theatre where he relishes creating new sound environments and scores to pull the audience along.

Romano hails proudly from Newfoundland, Canada, is a proud Q’alipu member and has a master’s degree in music from
McGill University.

Animation

Isla Nightingale Brown engages multiple disciplines to convey that which she can’t find words for. Equal parts Vulcan and Forest Gnome, her indelible whimsy is grounded in her passion for logical problem solving, and fuelled by a boundless curiosity for the world around her.

She has recently ventured into the animation space and is thrilled for the opportunity to explore, express and delight. 

Writer, Editor, Producer, Director

Before dipping his toes into the film world Steve designed award-winning sets and lighting for more than 500 productions of theatre, Opera, dance and performance art. His work has toured extensively and has been seen all across Canada, the United States, the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Estonia, Russia, Australia, and Asia. In all, 27 countries around the world.

As a director, Steve conceived and directed several of his own shows, including the award-winning performer-less BREATH[e], which played to sold-out houses in two Toronto runs, as well as touring to London England at the ICA, and Edinburgh at the Traverse Theatre.
